pleasemakeitwork 10
Is there a layer of the EN Forums to whom the Moderators report? Or are the Moderators free agents with no control? If there is a layer of supervision, how do I communicate with it? Thanks. Link to comment

Level 5* jefito 5,587 Posted December 9, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted December 9, 2014 If you believe that a particular post by anyone (including moderators) violates the forum's rules (https://discussion.evernote.com/index.php?app=forums&module=extras§ion=boardrules), then you should report it via the Report button. It will be seen by actual Evernote employees, probably either GBarry or charboyd. Remember that for non-Evernote staff, being a moderator is currently only a function of post count; anyone with 300 or more posts is de facto a moderator. Link to comment

Even so, one discovers that moderators do not have any super powers. We're all in the same boat when it comes to expressing ourselves and just generally trying to get along - whether one signed up as a member today or years ago. I'm assuming it's a grievance against a moderator that he/she thinks is out of control. Any members here are "free" to be just as out of control - if that makes any sense. One can be just as much of a free agent if one signed up a couple of days ago Link to comment

I understand your frustration.Unfortunately, I doubt that Evernote will do anything, even if you do report it. A more direct form of action with immediate results would be to select the "Manage Ignore Prefs" under your name in the upper right corner of this forum. You can then hide all the posts from the offending user. Link to comment
Level 5* jefito 5,587 Posted December 9, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted December 9, 2014 1: Things that normal users may think are reportable may not in fact be a violation of forum rules; the Evernote folks do take the rules seriously, but do have some discretion as well. 2: You may believe that nothing will be done, but reports are taken seriously, and consequences may take place out of our view. The Evernote team really isn't into public shaming. 3: Use Ignore if you feel that you must, but I usually believe that it's better to cultivate a mental "ignore" mode; you may not be able to escape the ignored user's posts altogether anyways, if someone else quotes from them.
