Abandoned Version 5

Since there is apparently no plan to go back to version 5 of Penultimate, and version six was a rewrite, maybe Evernote would be willing to sell the code of their old product for someone new to carry on?  Users could still link to Evernote, and they as a company could put their efforts toward their new direction.  I'd be willing to start a kickstarter to raise the money if the price was realistic.
