newbie question - would like notification when new content is available

Is there something I can set to receive an instant notification when there is new content in my Evernote? I would love to see a pop-up or hear a beep.

There's no current option within Evernote to be notified of new content,  though it might be possible to set up an IFTTT recipe or otherwise use another app to generate some sort of feed.
