richb.hanover 0 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I let Evernote (5.something, pretty recent) on my 10.9.5 box upgrade itself to version 6.0. None of my messages are available. Level 5 Stuhrer 262 Posted November 25, 2014 Level 5 Posted November 25, 2014 Same, and notes also rename to "untitled" if ever accessed. That is a bug in V6.0. My recommendation: read this https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/76662-evernote-for-mac-v60-and-v601/page-10#entry325989 and install V6.0.1 from the Evernote site.
Level 5* JMichaelTX 4,119 Posted December 17, 2014 Level 5* Posted December 17, 2014 Most of the issues/bugs in the AppStore versions (6.0, 6.0.3) are NOT in the DirectDL versions.IOW, the bugs are mostly due to changes that are required by Apple to meet AppStore requirements. I'm not saying this is Apples fault. Clearly, the fault lies with Evernote. So, if you want a version of Evernote Mac that works now, you will need to switch to the DirectDL version.BTW, the DirectDL ver is no less "clean" than the AppStore ver. See Evernote Mac v6.0.3 Released
Nikolay Golub 0 Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 What a terrible bug. I've started using evernote frequently about 5 month ago and I just setup my work environment for this, but after this bug I don't think that I ever buy a professional version, or recommend it to any of my friends. Is there any workaround without installing application from web site? I keep my mac clean and trying to install applications only from store.
Level 5 Stuhrer 262 Posted December 16, 2014 Level 5 Posted December 16, 2014 Yes, this issue is correct. I am seeing it too. I suspect it has something to do with the new feature that trys to sync notes once it detects a change. Please roll back this "feature". As users we cant afford to loose what we put it. On the topic of raising a case. I have a few cases raised that NO ONE from support responded to in 3 weeks. I had to stay up at 2 AM my time just to get hold of someone on chat ! EN team - please go slow on rolling out new features. I understand you are trying to make the product "better" but you are doing it at the cost of loosing data and crippling existing users. What do you gain by doing that ? This just can't be the future you plan for Evernote. Why not release a new version in phases ? Start with an internal deployment, then progressively go out to groups of users. As EN becomes an important part of your users lives, you cant be cavalier about the quality of the code. Phil hope you are listening. Hi, You have posted this in two threads one for Windows one for Mac. Are you really seeing this problem identically on two different platforms or was this a mistake? If not which versions are you using. On Mac there is a known problem with the App Store version and the direct download beta version 6.0.4 seems to solve that problem of slow loading and empty notes.

Level 5 Stuhrer 262 Posted November 25, 2014 Level 5 Posted November 25, 2014 Sorry Stuhrer, I have to disagree with your #3. It's not about "knowing", it's about "doing" These issues are caused by a failure to do proper testing and QA BEFORE a release. The need for this has been known for decades. For whatever reasons, Evernote has chosen NOT to do proper testing and QA. Fair enough, but it is difficult to test all the differences of 100+ million user settings and version combinations. Except the new look of the UI I did not experience any of the reported problems. Why? Maybe because I used the direct download version? Maybe because I downloaded all intermediate beta versions? Maybe because I did never switch between App store and direct download version? I don't know. I just know Evernote is working quite well for me. I have no idea what the reason for this mess is.
Level 5* JMichaelTX 4,119 Posted November 25, 2014 Level 5* Posted November 25, 2014 I have uninstalled and reinstalled from the web download (replacing the App store version). It works, but as I now troubleshoot this issue for all the people I've converted to Evernote, I'm a bit frustrated that Evernote hasn't issued: 1) an App store update 2) a general email to users giving authoritative instructions on a work around (admitting that work arounds are not fixes) 3) general plans to avoid this in the future 1) an App Store update takes time because Apple has to review the App 2) YES 3) If they new how to avoid such problems they would have prevented them in the first place Sorry Stuhrer, I have to disagree with your #3. Siberian 20 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Did you read this https://discussion.e...-10#entry325989 ??? Thanks! I reboot my mac and it help. Now I can see my notes. But still, i hate this version. It's so painful for my eyes and it have so bad, ugly look. Grey fonts on grey background what they (designers) thinking?

Siberian 20 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Same issue. I can't see my notes. I really don't understand how such ugly and broken version can be released to Mac app store. Did you guys even using your own product? It seems like developers do not using it at all, because even ten minutes of work with Evernote 6 is enough to know that is full of bugs and have terrible design, completely unproductive, ugly and difficult to use. I love evernote and using it every day for more than 5 years, this is why this release was shocked to me, it looks like designers and developers of this version are irresponsible and completely clueless about productivity and real work.
Zebo Stoneleigh 9 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Same, and notes also rename to "untitled" if ever accessed.
kevin918 0 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 The new version of EN is a joke...I have the same issue with you. They are viewable, but taking such a long time to open a note (About 1 min...). And the UI is so weird, looks like an uncompleted UI design. Mac OS XEN6.0
holst 0 Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 same problem ... reinstalled from evernote.com and resolved problem. whew.
slharris910 0 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Same issue with Mavericks 10.9.5, running 6.0 (App Store upgrade). Notes either disappear, only appear in part, or only load after >1 min.
MargyLY 0 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Ditto here, without Mavericks, running Evernote 6.0. If I wait long enough (maybe 45 seconds) the note may appear.
fzelders 1 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Just chiming in that this is indeed a terrible upgrade. In my opinion, the worst Evernote yet. Slower, poor interface (despite the "science"), totally unreliable, can't even use it because of the bugs. Notes can't be seen, names changing to "Untitled" and syncing is slow.Agree!
fzelders 1 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Same problem here with OS X Yosemite 10.10.1. :-(
ybakos 15 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I've added my issues as new threads and submitted bug reports. Just chiming in that this is indeed a terrible upgrade. bernie1832 0 Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I ran into the same problem. To get around, I went to evernote.com, downloaded and installed (I used Evernote_RELEASE_6.0.1_451119.dmg). After the installation, I signed back in and can now see all my notes.
tiff231 2 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Have the extact same problem - unviewable notes that delete the titles if you try to open them. Indeed - a crummy upgrade!
