(Archived) Suggestion: Instant Messenger

I would find it extremely convenient if Evernote had a IM chat account on Gmail, MSN, Yahoo, and AIM that would allow me to type things and have it go into my Autoimported folder. It would be nice if it could also accept files, but being able to jot a note in the program/screen I already have up would save steps, processor time (because I leave Evernote open in a browser tab because of this), and time.

Thanks for the feedback.  If you use Twitter, you can send direct messages into your Evernote account:

But we don't yet support any IM systems.

I've set that up and maybe used it personally once. Thought I would use it more. It would take another step is all. I suppose that's not too bad, but IM support would be great.

Another option would be our email gateway, if you happen to be using an email client a lot. Make an address book entry for your "incoming email address" on the Settings page of your web account.
