Launching 3rd party app from within Evernote

MadeByGrandad

Idea

Is it possible to launch a 3rd party app from an Evernote note?

I have a note which helps me schedule my guitar practice sessions - it has headings like 'Theory', 'technique', 'backing tracks' etc.

I have various applications which support my learning - books on Kindle, apps which help with chord structures etc.

It would be good for example if, against a heading 'Theory' I could include a link (?) which, on clicking, launched my Kindle app.

I already use links to other EN notes and to external web pages - this would be similar but would apply to other applications on my Mac

any takers?

This worked in EN Mac 5.5.2, but may, or may not in Ver 5.7.2 (Evernote added restrictions to links to local files).

In your EN Note, enter text to identify your app, lik "Kindle app", select, and add link (CMD-K) that is the full URL path to the app.

For example:  "file:///Applications/Kindle.app/"

Sorry, I don't know of any fix.  This behavior is what Evernote chose when they "restored" the local file link behavior.

You may want to Submit a BUG report via an EN Support Ticket. In the Support Form, select "Report a bug, crash, or data lost", and start the Ticket Title with "BUG:  " to make it clear.  Reporting a bug and account issues should be available to all users, including Free Account owners.  Other ticket types are not available to Free account owners.
