When logging in, message reads I'm offline, but I have internet connection

New to forum.  Using Windows 7.  Within the past month or so, when I try to sync, message displays that sync not done because I'm offline.  Internet connection works just fine. Tried uninstalling Evernote and reloading.  Now I can't get past the "already have account" sign in window.  Try signing in and I get that I'm offline.  Any help or suggestions appreciated.
