Voice notes made in Evernote on a Blackberry 9900 not able to be played on my iPad

I, too, ran into the problem stated below, only my current phone of choice is a Blackberry 9900. Has any progress been made on resolving the issue? I can play the file on my MacBook Pro in Evernote, but not on my iPad.

Unfortunately, applications on the Android don't have access to enough CPU power to change the encoding of the audio clips that you record, so we're stuck with the audio recording file format chosen by the handset manufacturer. This seems to usually be "Adaptive Multi-Rate" (AMR) audio.
We made this type of file a "Free" file type, but this format doesn't seem to be supported out of the box by the iPhone.

We're investigating options for the future, however.
