Mac App Store Version Repeatedly Asked For My Login

I am running the Mac App Store version of Evernote on my iMac and on my MacBook Pro, both running Mac OS X Yosemite and the version of Evernote is 5.5.1 (build 402628 App Store).  I set up Evernote so that it would remember my login.  But, every time I launched the MBP version of Evernote, it asked me for my login credentials.  Finally I solved the problem by uninstalling the MBP version of Evernote using App Cleaner and reinstalling it.  But I don't know why that solution would have worked.  Any thoughts on that?

Appcleaner removes all the files for a particular app from your device,  including the little ones that apps sometimes leave behind as little notes for themselves during updates.  Sometimes those files contain misinformation that prompts unwelcome behaviour like requests for credentials.  So a 'clean reinstall' often gets rid of odd unwelcome behaviours.
