(Archived) "special" note

I'd like to see a way to copy and append selected text to a specific note. Call this a "masternote". You can define any text note as your masternote and there would be a keyboard shortcut to append your current text selection to the end of this particular note.

I'm all the time jotting stuff down but I don't need a unique note for just a few words or one or two lines of text. This special note could hold all that stuff and would be accessed easily.

Please excuse me if there is a way to accomplish something similar to this now. I couldn't find anything like this in the guide.
