Forthwind 0
Hello How do you view which notes/notebooks have you shared? If you have like hundreds of notes do you have to click each note to make sure the share is on/off? Thank you in advance Link to comment

Level 5* jefito 5,598 Posted October 16, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted October 16, 2014 You'll get more specific advice if you let us know which Evernote client you are using (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, web, etc.) Link to comment
Forthwind 0
Oh i am sorry. I am using Evernote PC and Mac. It wouldn't let me view which notebooks i have shared. It is better actually to have an additional tab on the left where it says "Shared Notes" and "Shared Notebooks" so that we know which notes/notebooks we have shared in the past. What if one has like 400+ notes and some of them are shared, how would one find out which notes they shared? As for now, i can only find out by looking at the sharing button, if it turns blue it means the note is shared Link to comment
Level 5* jefito 5,598 Posted October 16, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted October 16, 2014 The search grammar document is actually silent on the "sharedate:" (sorry, gaz ) term, but may be useful for identifying shared notes (but not notes in shared notebooks). See this post: https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/32591-new-search-term-on-evernotes-search-grammar-feature-request/?p=176349. I haven't really tested it myself much, as I'm at my work computer; I did get some false positives here, so I don't know. I just don't share individual notes in general. For identifying shared notebooks, I don't know of any quick way using the Windows or web clients. You just need to remember, or examine the individual notebooks. Link to comment
Forthwind 0
Thank you for the reply all. For notes, if i click "copy note link" or something the sharing symbol (the one with three dots/people holding hands in circle) turns blue this indicates that a note is being shared. For notebooks, there are two options share it with someone or make public link. If you choose one of them, the program will direct you to that specific sharing options page in the future if you click the sharing symbol again. So this tells me whether or not i share a notebook or make it private. If i still see the two options, it means the notebook is private. This is really confusing if i have more notebooks and notes in the future. I hope they implement something in the future to let us see which notes/notebooks are currently being shared. Level 5* gazumped 12,049 Posted October 20, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted October 20, 2014 Ah. Trying this out on my account. most of my notes seem to be shared - presumably because they're available to Mohiomap, Sunrise and a few other apps that have access to my account. To have a meaningful result I think you might have to revoke all external access to your account - although I don't know whether that would UNshare the notes - and then search. Sadly there's no bulk way that I can see to unshare individual notes. That has to be done individually. AHK here I come... Link to comment
