Auto Empty Trash

Hi All,

 

Is their any way to automatically emty the Evernote Trash?

 

Or even better just notes older than say 3 months?

Hi.  Not as yet.  You could use an automation tool like AutoHotKey to run a little routine to open Evernote,  empty trash,  search for all notes before a certain date,  and delete;  and you might even build in little safeguards so you can keep certain notes past their 'trash by' date - which would clear the trash every 3 months and delete any untrashed notes that have reached that age - but I'd also recommend that you keep lots of database backups just in case...  (And if you decide to try that,  invest in a new free account and test it on sample data before you use it in anger!).

 

-And that's not truly automatic,  because you'd have to remember to run the tool.. although maybe there's a calendar app that will run it for you,  or an IFTTT script...

is their even a way to see when the note was deleted?

Have a look in the Trash notebook;  the last "update" would be the deletion date.
