Mac Application Crashing

I have a 13 inch MacBook Pro with Retina display and the evernote app will not open.  I click on it and it partially opens then immediatly closes and i get a window that says it cannot open.  Im not sure if it is my computer or if the app just needs an update! Hopefully someone experienced the same thing and can help me out!
