Problems annotating multiple images in iOS

When annotating multiple jpg or png images, EN crashes and restarts my iPad. Is there a limit to the number or size of images EN can comfortably handle?

 

I'd use pdfs but need to have the images displayed (as in MacOS) rather than presented as placeholder icons. Also as others have said, it would help to have the option to turn off the annotation summary in iOS. (It's tedious to revert to MacOS to turn that feature for a number of images.)
