Prevent Evernote from becoming the active application when importing a file or files.

I'm adding several hundred files to my EN using Hazel to assign the target notebook and to assign tags. I'd like to stop EN from taking over as the active application. When EN accepts a file it becomes the active application and I'd like to stop that from happening so that I can continue to work on other applications while importing hundreds of files. Any advice is appreciated.
