Web Clipper Crashes. Every time.

Hi all,

I installed (and re-installed) in Chrome. I have yet to clip a single page to Evernote. Every single attempt results in a, "Cannot save clip," and a crash report:

Can you navigate to https://www.evernote.com/AuthorizedServices.action? It lists all that are connected to your Evernote account. Do you see any entries for the Web Clipper?

I see a list of authorized applications which includes my tabled, phone, and the computer that won't clip, all for Evernote, none for Web Clipper.

Thx for adding more details. It looks like there's a problem with authentication. Can you verify that you are signed in to the Web Clipper and that you see the Web Clipper interface when you click the toolbar icon to start the Clipper?

 

Other things to check:

- Do you have any other extensions installed that limits or otherwise block JavaScript?

Yes, I am signed in.

When I click the toolbar icon, clipper opens, prompts me to make a selection, accepts the selection, and gives me the options to annotate/organize. When I click on the Save button, I get the "cannot save" error.

Chrome settings are, "allow all sites to run JavaScript." The only other extensions I have installed are Pinterest, Roboform, and Clearly. I've even disabled them one at a time, but it does not solve the problem.

I was having this same problem and it was quite annoying.  I used the link above that cchan provided and looked in the 'Applications' area.  In the 'Authorized Applications' area it only showed my iPhone... nothing else.  When I looked at the web clipper on my computer it showed me as logged in.  So... I logged off, then logged back in.  After that everything worked just fine!

Workaround should be to copy/paste from the wenb page into an Evernote note on, say, a desktop client (Windows or Mac). The web client might work as well.

I solved doing simply a logout an relogin to the webclipper. Hope this helps!

I have just begun experiencing the same issue, after using the web clipper flawlessly for most of the year.  I've logged out/in, uninstalled/reinstalled clipper and I've updated my Evernote Windows.  Any other idea?  Event log below.

I had the exact same problem as everyone here (Chrome browser) but I also solved it by logging out of the Clipper and logging back in. I wish I had tried that first!

To fix this crash, we published 6.8.1 about an hour ago.
