safari Github & No Web Clipping!

Recommended Posts

This is caused by the Content Security Policy of Github that prevents extensions from running. At the moment this is not something we can do anything about. You can ask GitHub site publishers to remove the restrictive CSP settings they have.

Ok. I see this is a problem specific to Safari? At least I have a work around now. Hopefully Safari will fix this. I guess I could do a radar, but I'm sure it would be more effective if EN did one if they haven't.

It's up to each browser to decide how they follow CSP policies. Safari has chosen to don't let extensions execute code. Chrome haven't...

Workarounds:

You can drag the "site icon" (shown when clicking the URL bar in Safari) onto Evernote to clip the URL.

A bit overkill when you may just want to clip a "bookmark", but you can also use the right-click menu and use the Clip to Evernote features available there.
