soundsgoodtome 147
If we've opted for email notifications of new posts to a thread, each email message contains a link to visit the thread. However, upon clicking those links — more often than not — I'm taken to a page with an error message that says, "Oops! Something went wrong." Eventually I figured out that the "something that went wrong" was merely that I wasn't logged in to my Evernote account in the web browser. So, the error message is confusing. How about a more helpful sequence of events? After clicking an emailed link, if we're not logged in at the time, why not simply present us with a log-in form, instead of displaying an "error" page? The error message is inaccurate, unnecessary, and unhelpful. :-) Link to comment
gbarry 2,657
This is a great idea and it's on the docket to provide a far better set of information on that oops/error page. It's coming up on the list as I knock down some other things. Though you shouldn't be encountering this error unless you've received a notification concerning private content--like some of our beta testing areas--or if the topic has been moved. Also, if you log back in from where you land, it should automatically take you to the page you were originally trying to view, unless it's a permanent error page. If you're landing on an error page when trying to view public content (any guest can see it) from a notification message, that's a bigger problem that I'd need to check out. Link to comment

I'm glad this is on your radar. It actually happens with every thread to which I'm subscribed — virtually all of which are public. :-) Link to comment
