Safari Web Clipper Notebooks and Tags lists not appearing

Evernote Web Clipper works fine in Firefox, but in Safari neither the list of notebooks or tags appears when I click on the respective fields.  Under File in the clipper slide out sidebar, it  shows "First Notebook" in the notebook field (which does not exist in my notebooks, by the way) and the tag field says "Add tag".  Any suggestions on how to remedy this?  I've already uninstalled/reinstalled the clipper extension.  I'm running Safari 7.0.5 on OSX 10.9.4
