email verification

I may be a touch on the paranoid side, but I recently received a request from Evernote to verify my email and I've become suspicious of any email that asks me to link out of the text. Is email verification something I should expect from Evernote?

Been a long time since I set up an account but I think this is pretty standard issue.

Just look at the sending address and instead of clicking the link in the email, copy the URL, paste it into your browser to inspect it, the proceed if it looks fine.
