How to widen toolbar to show more buttons

Is there a way to widen the toolbar? The search bar is longer than needed. When I drag a button onto the toolbar it gets lost on the down arrow.

Do you right-click the toolbar and choose Customize ?  Can you not drag an icon just next to a current icon and have the search bar reduce to fit?  If not I'd suggest restarting your computer or if necessary,  removing and reinstalling Evernote.
