Spacebar in Tables

I'm having the same problem with the space bar not working in tables on a mac. Spacebar works fine elsewhere in Evernote and in all other apps (see -- this reply has spaces in it).

 

It also only seems to fail in narrow columns/columns where the space would need to expand the column width. Works fine in columns that are already wide enough to accommodate the space.
