Partial Syncronization

Recommended Posts

I´m a new user, so excuse me if I repeat the question, but didn´t find in the forum.

It´s possible to syncronize only part of the captured notes?

The idea is to have some notes or notebooks ONLY in one computer (my main home desktop).

Not upload to the cloud, and not accessible from other devices (mobiles, work)?

Hi. Welcome to the forums!

I think you are looking for local notebooks.

However, please note that the web clipper and mobile clients rely on the Evernote servers to connect with your home pc, so you'll need to copy/paste sites or move photos and so forth through itunes into your local notebooks (drag and drop) to avoid online syncing.

GM, I think you may want to update your article on Notebooks, since the nice dialog window for creating a new NB no longer exists in EN Mac 5.5.1.

The ONLY way I know to create a new NB is from the menu, File > New Notebook > Synchronized Notebook   |    Local Notebook.

Clicking on the "New Notebook" button on the NB Panel view does NOT give you a choice -- it just creates a new Sync'd NB.

A problem that I have reported previously is that once you create a Local NB, there is no direct way to confirm it is indeed "Local".  The Local NB is the same color as Sync'd NB and there is no visual indication, nor properties, that indicate it is "Local".
