ErikaEvans 2
Hello all, Don't have the time for a fishing expedition through the forum so hoping someone can help me quickly. I reluctantly switched to Evernote from Springpad due to their impending shutdown and I'm working on getting everything set up across my devices. Everything looks on the surface like it imported properly-I have the right number of notes and my notebooks and tags look present and accounted for. I paid for a premium account, downloaded the app onto my Nexus 7 tablet and Nexus 4 phone, downloaded the Windows app onto my laptop and took a test-drive on the (Chrome) web version to get to know everything. For my purposes, being able to quickly get to the source website for web clips is critical and the majority of my notes are bookmarks/links. I see that in the web app the link is at the top of the note. No problem. I figured out that in the Android app for my phone and tablet there is a 'go to source' option in the share menu. Great! Now--how in the heck do I do that with the downloaded Windows app? All I see when I look at what is supposed to be a link is a picture from the site, and NO link to follow. This is 100% useless to me. In many cases, the name of the site isn't even present so I can't even use it as a starting point to Google and re-find what I was supposed to have saved for quick access. Please advise! Link to comment
Sentinel 195
Welcome to Evernote and the Forum. I use a Mac, however, I think you will find the website source url in the same place it appears for me.Take a look at this image: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s48/sh/bbbb4035-ce32-413c-8eac-5fcabd16ca30/fe79110c291a7f5e287ceb0f30714038 Link to comment

Level 5* phils 220 Posted May 30, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted May 30, 2014 No need to click the "I" icon in the Windows client - the URL for notes created via the Evernote Web Clipper is shown in the same place as it is in the Mac illustration that Sentinel posted. If you don't see the URL there, what do you see in that area? Maybe you can post a screenshot? Also, just to make sure - did you capture these notes via the Evernote Web Clipper? You mentioned importing, so am just wanting to clarify how these notes got created... Link to comment
SebR 146
I understood he imported from Springpad. Link to comment
Level 5* jefito 5,586 Posted May 30, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted May 30, 2014 In the Windows client, the note URL will show when you're not editing the note. There's a little toolbar that shows it and the created updated dates. When you click inside the note, Evernote assumes that you want to edit it, and that toolbar is replaced with the edit tool toolbar. Click away, say on the top of the note toolbar or on the note in the note list, and the previous toolbar returns. Link to comment
ErikaEvans 2
Gentlemen/ladies--thank you so much. The source URL shows up when you click the i and also pops up when you click out of editing the note, as mentioned. Problem solved and I appreciate your help! Link to comment
