Hi Folks,

We have a new beta for you to test out.

The improvements include:

  • Request read/write notebook access - allows you to request write access to read-only notes in shared notebooks
  • YinXiang support for ScanSnap
  • Various bug fixes
Please try it out and let us know what you think, we'd love to get feedback!

You can opt into beta's by going to Tools >> Options and checking [ ] Update to pre-release version when available

Thanks!

Seems like it works. I can request added permissions for notebooks that I have access to.
My only issue with this is that you can do it with public notebooks...which could potentially be a problem, as an owner of one :D

We shall see how this fares I guess.

I am still seeing this (Though I understand I am messing with registry entries at this point, so it is less supported at some level)

This may not be supported, but it appears that the "Show Note Info" is broken, when you have AutoShowNoteToolbar turned off in the registry. Now I don't see the info, but the editing toolbar seems a little broken. Likely not supported to a certain level, being a registry change, but I do prefer to see it.

I tested with 2 accounts. In account B comes the popup "Request Editing Rights" - I clicked it. What happens in account A? There is no reaction.

I thought the mail address of account A would get an email like "User B requests editing ..." - but there is no mail ...

This works as expected for me, clicking the Request Editing Rights button causes an email to be sent to the owner of the notebook for me.

The issue with disappearing tags and filing of notes still exists. I just submitted ticket 551486. See this thread for more info

My ticket stated:

I know the newer versions of EN 5.4.x for Windows are supposed to be better at avoiding conflicts, but it is WAY WAY worse. I have had several instances where I made changes to a note header and body and those changes were reverted to the old note. This never happened until the last few weeks. It must be the more aggressive conflict avoidance. I am the only one changing the notes here so it must be EN doing it. It is getting tiresome having to retag and refile notes multiple times.

Yes, I just upgraded to the beta, and the disappearing tags bug is still happening for me as well.
