D & D Nichols 0
My question is: Is there a best practice to save all pictures other than on my phone. Reason being is that it is taking alot of memory and I am maxed out on a larger memory SD card for my particular phone? Link to comment

D & D Nichols 0
Through evernotes. I have EV on my laptop and my phone. I am needing to clear up some memory on my SD card and want to stay as highly functional with my EV as possible. Is there a best practice in which I would be able to access a note with a picture embedded within it without every picture being on my andriod phone? Link to comment

If pictures are attached to Evernote notes, they can be deleted from the phone. When the note is viewed later, the content is downloaded from the server (unless that notebook has been selected for 'offline searching') so it's not necessary to duplicate the picture on the phone. Note that Flickr and Picassa and Onedrive et al all have picture management options which may be better than storing content in Evernote, so there are alternatives. And Dropbox (and others) can be set up to upload a copy of all pictures taken when the phone connects. There's a thread somewhere in the forums about changes in picture quality during Evernote storage - but that shouldn't be an issue unless best quality resolution is a concern. Link to comment
BurgersNFries 2,407
I agree with Gaz in that while Evernote is not the best option for organizing photos. I use EN pretty much every hour of every day. But I do not use it to organize my photos. Link to comment
D & D Nichols 0
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to confuse anyone. However, I dont use EV to manage my pictures overall. However, in my business I end up taking alot of pics through EV to give a visual in training my employees. Question: So if they are stored in EV server and duplicated on my laptop, if I delete the pics in the EV picture file on my phone I shouldnt lose them and when I recall them again it will download them from EV? Once doing so, will I every so often need to plan on deleting the pics off of the EV picture file on my phone to continue to keep my SD memory from being overloaded? Thanks in advance for helping me on this subject! If you delete the photos from your Evernote notes, the next time you sync, the changes will be propagated to the EN servers & any other computers/devices, when you next sync & you will lose the images. On a mobile app, the Evernote notes are not downloaded - only the header information. The exception to this is if you have a premium account & you designate which notebooks are to be accessible "offline" or...when the notes are newly created on the phone and/or recently downloaded to the phone & therefore stored in the cache. IOW, if you have 100 notes in Evernote & each note contains a photograph, that does not mean all 100 photographs are stored on your phone. Link to comment
D & D Nichols 0
I do have a premium account. I just checked my phone settings in EV under (Search and Storage) and found that I do not have a check mark in the Offline search option. If I clear my memory card cache will that also clear my notes overall? Link to comment
ScottLougheed 1,316
Clearing your memory card cache will do just that., clear the cache. The Evernote application on your phone will just initiate a download from Evernote's servers and rebuild the cache as needed.I think the gist is- photos in your phones camera roll that are also in Evernote, can be safely deleted FROM THE CAMERA ROLL (pardon the caps, on my iPad so no italics easy at hand). They will remain in Evernote (they exist separately from the camera roll on your phone.)If you delete photos from notes Evernote, then they will be deleted and gone from Evernote on all your devices.
