Evernote not recognising handwriting in Jpeg

Hi to all,

 

I'm brand new to Evernote. I love it, but I can't get my handwritten notes recognised. I'm using Windows 7 on a laptop and taking jpegs with my digital camera.

 

At first I thought it was just my illegible scrawl, but I just tried using the attached file (I've made it smaller for this post) and still nothing.

 

I've tried searching the knowledge base, forums and google but haven't found anything, apologies if this is already covered somewhere.

Handwriting recognition is done server side and results are not immediately available for searching.

 

After you saved the image, how long did you wait before you searched for the handwriting in the image?

Well, I just tried again, so that would be 24 hours.

I have the same issue with both Windows Desktop and Windows Phone 8 not recognizing text from clearly (print not cursive) hand-written notes.
