(Archived) Support response times

Recommended Posts

Hi

What are peoples' experiences with response times from Evernote support? I'm a premium member and still haven't had a reply (apart from the computer-generated autoreply) to a question I posted via the website over two weeks ago, despite sending a reminder a few days ago. Is this typical?

Regards

Glenn.

Glenn: I have requested/needed support in the past. Both times they got back in touch with me within hours, and although were unable to fix the problem immediately, they kept me informed on progress. Don't know if this is typical, but it is what I would expect as a premium user. :(

Thanks - that sort of response was my expectation as well. I forgot to say above that I've checked my spam folders etc and nothing's wound up in there.

The message was actually more of a suggestion (adding an "Add to Evernote" contextual menu item) than technical support, but I still hoped for a response.

Glenn -

I did a search through our tracking database, and I just found that one entry that you filed on our "Product Suggestions" page. If you open a Tech Support inquiry (at the bottom of http://www.evernote.com/about/contact/support/), then you'll get some sort of human response within one business day if you're a Premium user. Users with Free accounts will get replies eventually, but may need to wait a day or two, especially around weekends when our support folks are fishing, etc.

If you contact us through one of the other forms on our web site (http://www.evernote.com/about/contact/), then that doesn't go to Tech Support. In particular, the Product Suggestions goes to product management folks, and we don't routinely reply to each suggestion. (We do, of course, read all of them and appreciate the feedback.)

Thanks

Hi Dave

Thanks for the clarification.

For those that are interested, the original suggestion was about adding a contextual (right-click) menu option to the desktop clients, something like "Add to Evernote" - currently I have to do this by creating a new note and then dragging the file in, which takes at least 5 seconds more than it could ;)

In Windows, you can create your own "Send To" shortcut. It's very easy. If you haven't already got one, create a folder that EN monitors for content. Find the folder on your computer where SendTo lives, e.g., C:\documents and settings\userame\SendTo. Create a shortcut in the sendto folder to your monitored folder (e.g., by right-clicking on the monitored folder, dragging to SendTo and choosing "create shortcut").

Interesting, thanks. I primarily use the Mac version and I'm intrigued by your mention of "monitored folders" - this would be ideal for the purposes I have in mind. Does anyone know if this functionality is present (or planned) for the Mac version? (I realise I should be asking this in the Mac forum ...)

Glenn.
