Links opening in browser instead of evernote?

I have the windows client, and I would like to use links between notes for table of content style task management. However, my links are opening up in my internet browser, and I can't edit them, just resave them to my Inbox. I've read that evernote links can be a great way to organize notes, but this isn't helpful to me. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.

If you select more than one note you should get a menu that offers to create a "table of contents" note.  Or you could hold Ctrl when selecting "Copy Note Link".
