New line turns [bold] button off

Issue:

 

The formatting buttons (bold, italic, underline) appear inactive when starting a new line. This is confusing.

 

Steps to reproduce:

 

Take bold modifier for example:

1. Click on [bold] icon
   Icon becomes highlighted ("active") to illustrate that it is enabled
2. Type something
   Icon stays "active"
3. Press return (new line)
   Icon becomes "inactive", and only becomes "active" again when something is typed

Evernote 5.3.0.3360, Windows 8.1.1

 

Expected Resolution:

 

Icons stay active until disabled, or cursor is moved to a non-bold/italic/underline region, as seen in most applications (i.e. the Evernote forum WYSIWYG editor)

OK - 

1. The forum editor is third party software,  not relevant to the conversation.
2. The Evernote editor sucks is sub-optimal in some areas (it is being looked at).  This may be one of them...
