I am currently using the Android App "Clipper" for this functionality. It works well, but i really miss the Blackberry shortcut and the Windows Mobile long press pop-up built in options. And while this doesn't address your specific question, check our "WriteNote" for Android for somewhat similar time and date stamped entries (WriteNote is easily my most used app).
