(Archived) Text Recognition: What am I doing wrong?

Okay, so I'm a relatively new Evernote user, and I can't understand what I'm doing wrong. I keep uploading images to Evernote, but I never see any text recognition that allows me to go from photo to text.

Is there a button I'm not pressing? I see that I can search by text, but how do I pull the text out of the images?

Evernote's image processing is to help you find the original image, not to extract a simple text format:
