That didn't work properly and now I have the following issues: 1) Evernote does not show as being installed. (control panel - uninstall program)2) When trying to run the 5.2 installer again, it gives me an error message: 'U hebt onvoldoende bevoegheden voor deze map c:\program files (x86)\Evernote. De installatie.......' As local adminsitrator of this machine, I wonder then who has....3) When going to c:\program files (x86)\Evernote to have a look, I cannot access, by via security I also cannot pull the ownership to me.4) When going to the TEMP directory, to delete the evernote.msi and then try to run the installation again, it still won't let me. (item 2) So I cannot use Evernote (which I actually really become to appreciate both for work as private), but I cannot delete it and install again either. Many thanks for your help. Link to comment

Level 5* gazumped 11,652 Posted March 6, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted March 6, 2014 I'm not qualified to check the setup log - I'd recommend that you raise a support ticket (see below) so you can deal with someone who is. From the bits I do understand it's not exactly clear what is preventing the installation from going ahead - I'd recommend doing a general system search for any file names including the word "Evernote" and move them to a separate folder while you retry the installation. Reboot your machine. Then re-dowload the install file and try again. If that fails, run a Windows cleaner app like Glary Utilities to fix any folder / shortcut / registry errorsthat might remain and try again. Link to comment

After a restart of the hardware during the evening, it released the directory again. After that I was able to delete the directory and then reinstall the latest version of Evernote. There's a 5.3 Beta version knocking around that might help too.. Please search the forums for more details and for information about backups and reinstalls etc for your OS Link to comment
