Edit a note shared using a share URL

I have a paid evernote subscription.

Can a note that I share using the share-via-URL option be edited by others who have access to the link?

No. You have to share a notebook with them and give them permission to modify that notebook.

I wish this was possible. Then one can use Evernote for collaborating with people.

Althought perhaps other capabilities (like tracking who made what change) are needed also for collaboration to happen.

Yes, unfortunately Evernote is not google drive (it looks like that is the tool you are after). The collaboration features in Evernote (indeed shared notebooks are explicitly designed with collaboration in mind) are different (a repository for collected ideas) and really considerably more limited (co-editing of the same content, e.g., a note, simultaneously is not handled well).
