seebee 27
The snipping tool in Windows is invaluable for speed copy and pasting into a note or email. It doesn't compete with 'Outlook' however. You can clip and paste directly into an Evernote note, but you cannot select and resize the clip like you can in 'Outlook'. There is a way round this. The clip can be resized by copying the resized clip from 'Outlook' into Evernote, but is a bit long winded. Why can't this be done with Evernote Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 12,076 Posted February 20, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted February 20, 2014 I've never noticed that you can resize a clip in Outlook. My options seems to be: take the whole email as is, or highlight a selection. Where in the process do you get the option to resize? And what version of Outlook are you on? Link to comment
seebee 27
OUTLOOK 2007 version. Create a new message, then go to screen with the image you want and make your clip with the snipping tool. Go back to the new message in OUTLOOK and cntrl+v into the body of the message. Select the image, then use the grab handles to adjust the size. Once you adjust the size, you can cntrl+c this new image and cntrl+v it into an EVERNOTE note at the reduced size. There is no need to save the image anywhere. I presume that you are emailing in html format with OUTLOOK and not in txt format. Let me know how you go. Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 12,076 Posted February 21, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted February 21, 2014 In Windows Ctrl-C is COPY and Ctrl-V is PASTE so what you appear to be doing is copying an altered image and pasting it into Evernote. This is a basic Windows clipboard function that should work from web pages or documents too. The clipper will give you formatted emails or a variety of options for web pages from "selection" to "article" to "full page". I don't see why the copy and paste option for email is 'better' than the clipper version. Link to comment
seebee 27
I am guessing that you don't have a problem with the unadjustable size of a clip dropped into an Evernote note. For me, they are too large for easy viewing without having to scroll. My solution is for creating a small image insertion into a note. Try it! Link to comment
Level 5* gazumped 12,076 Posted February 21, 2014 Level 5* Share Posted February 21, 2014 OK - I guess I get it, but I'm happy with the standard approach. Maybe the devs will think of a way to include this option within clipper.. thanks for the suggestion, anyhow! Link to comment
