Export text from Skitch annotations

Is there a way to export the text from Skitch annotations? I'd like to export a file that contains

  1. Text written using the 'text' tool
  2. Text 'contained' within the shape tools -- box, rounded rectangle, oval
  3. Text covered by the highlight tool.

Is this a planned feature?

AFAIK, this is not possible. Nor does Evernote publish their roadmap or ETAs.

@humanengr - What's the use case for doing this? Why would you want to export the text from an annotated image?

@Joe — thanks for responding.

My concern is with multi-page pdf’s that have little margin space for text annotations, and also that Skitch doesn’t have outline and checkbox features, both of which I use extensively in my commentary.

My current workflow for extended comments is
  1. Select text from the pdf view
  2. Copy that text
  3. Tap off of that selection
  4. Enter Skitch
  5. Draw a rectangle around that text. (I generally find that a bit easier, cleaner,  and more visible than highlighting.)
  6. Save
  7. Close to return to EN
  8. Paste text there bounded the text with quotation marks.
  9. Write my comment using EN outline and checkbox tools below the quotation.
  10. Return to the pdf. *
  11. Scroll to return to the page I was reading. **
I’m still mulling over file export and other ways to reduce the above effort, but wanted to draw your attention to issues with steps 10 and 11 above:

* There is a problem here that, in iOS, after one types anything in EN, returning to the pdf requires first exiting the note and then reopening it.

** It would help if the EN iOS pdf display kept track of the last page viewed.

If, in step 5, Skitch automatically copied text (as text) and any graphics enclosed in the rectangle to the clipboard, that would significantly improve workflow by eliminating the need for steps 1-3.

Or, instead, …

After a save from Skitch, place the last markup section not only in the summary but also on the clipboard so that can be pasted as a graphic in EN.
