starangelam 0 Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Hello,I set up an Evernote encryption password sometime ago, but I couldn't get it right again now. Is there anyway at all to change, reset the password at all? Thanks
engberg 89 Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 We don't have any way to decrypt content from your note that you encrypted with a password, unfortunately. This is an intentional security decision, so your privacy is protected. If you want to start using a new encryption password, you can delete the old encrypted content and then select some new text to encrypt. When you try to encrypt this content, you will have the option to use a new passphrase.
starangelam 0 Posted May 23, 2009 Author Posted May 23, 2009 GREAT!Thanks a lot for the quick reply. That's exactly what I'm looking for!!! Best~
krischej 0 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I'm sorry, but these instructions do not work with Evernote Mac Version 2.0 (116546).When creating a new note, the only option allowed is to use the same encryption password as all the others. You do not have the option to set a new one. This is also true if you attempt to permanently decrypt, sync, quit evernote, reopen evernote, and re-encrypt the same text as before. Thsi might work properly on Windows but not on the Mac version listed.Does anyone have a way to get encryption changes to work CORRECTLY on the Mac version?
engberg 89 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 If you restart the application, and type a different password in the dialog box, it will ask you if you want to use the new passphrase.
