(Archived) Can I create new notes by sending plain text messages?

I have an enV from Verizon, not a smartphone or a blackberry or anything. Is there a way simply for my to send text messages to evernote? I can find how to email notes, but not text them. Am I missing something?

We don't have our own dedicated SMS short code, although you could achieve this with some sort of SMS->email gateway. For example, you could use our Twitter integration to send a Direct Message to 'myen' to make a note in your account:

Most basic cell phones these days allow you to enter any email address as the destination when sending a text message. You are still limited to 140 characters since it goes via SMS, but there should be no problem sending to your dedicated Evernote email address.

UPDATE: I tried this using my cheap Motorola Razr and it worked great. I added my Evernote account email address to my cell phone contacts for future use.
