(Archived) Can't access favorites when signal weak

Sometimes I need to access notes on my iPhone in an area where there's a weak signal. If there's no signal, there's no problem, but if the signal is weak the phone sits there for ever trying to access the Evernote server.

Of course, I could just switch to airport mode so there's no signal at all; then I know I can access the favorites. But isn't there (or shouldn't there be) an easier way?

My guess is that the app may be checking for updates to your favorites if it sees it has a network, but I'll pass along this problem.
