robertmarkbram 2
Hi All, I clipped this page: The Walking Dead TV Series Characters, but it is displaying in Evernote Android very badly, with text sitting behind the images (as below). Is there anything I can do about this? Rob Link to comment
Level 5 jbenson2 2,149 Posted November 24, 2013 Level 5 Share Posted November 24, 2013 The web page you are referring to is a difficult page to capture. Using Evernote Windows, I could not capture it with either Clipper or Clearly. What I did was a more tedious process - screen capturing 3 images at a time, the bottom 3 into an Evernote note, and then working upward, repeating, then merging the notes together. Finally removing the separator bar between the merged notes. Here is what I came up with: http://www.evernote.com/shard/s2/sh/7c61cfce-9a08-4830-9718-64919cf3fac4/572c4904f9c8d21ec4ba1b258a494ae7 Link to comment

I want an offline version on my Android device that I can still do full text searching on, and Evernote really seems to fall down here, just like Instapaper, Pocket and Readability. I wrote up my efforts here: http://robertmarkbram.blogspot.com.au/2013/11/chrome-to-mobile-device-with-offline.html To date, the only satisfactory partial workaround is to save the page offline in mobile Opera. Level 5* gazumped 12,050 Posted November 25, 2013 Level 5* Share Posted November 25, 2013 There are various online resources to save a web page to PDF (and the Adobe editor software will do this if you ask it nicely) - you may find that this works better; also you can screen shot the whole page...? robertmarkbram 2
There are various online resources to save a web page to PDF (and the Adobe editor software will do this if you ask it nicely) - you may find that this works better; also you can screen shot the whole page...? Thanks for the suggestion, but it's not a particularly easy method: ease of use is why I started looking at Evernote, Readability, Instapaper, Pocket. The workflow or core set of functions I am after is the ability to save content (from a PC or device), have it stored in the cloud so that I can look at it on any connected machine/device, view it in offline mode on a device, and search within it as needed. Evernote, Readability, Instapaper and Pocket all come close, but also all fail on search. Wikipanion (on iOS only) and Opera (one device only) can do offline and search, but none of the sharing. I would rather use one of these two than convert content to PDF and manage it that way. Link to comment
