actant 22 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 In copying text from Word to Evernote, some spaces would be lost. For examples, "any U.S." would be simplified to "anyU.S." Is there anybody else ranning into this bug or having any solution? Tons of thanks...

If saving as a text file first, the bold/italic font would be lost. That's why I need to copy/paste to EN and use EN's simplifying feature. It seems to be a tragidic bug of the feature.
Level 5* gazumped 12,224 Posted November 16, 2013 Level 5* Posted November 16, 2013 If Evernote doesn't quite fit your required process, I don't think it qualifies as a 'bug'. MSWord in most versions is notoriously bloated with control characters which Evernote is apparently trying to remove without losing the sense of your text. If that means a few spaces get zapped, it's unfortunate, but one of those jobs where you either just stop simplifying the text, or get used to going over the simplified version and adding spaces back in. Try cut/ pasting the text back into Word - the spell checker should highlight any problems for you.

When I use hot-key "Ctrl-Alt-V" to move text from Word to EN, many spaces are lost. But if I manully creat a new note in EN and then mannully paste the text in it, >99% spaces could be retained. [update]I just get the sultion: to SAVE the Word file as "Word 6.0/95 - English".All the spaces can be 100% retained in EN.
