(Archived) Does the Mac client have the ability to clip screenshots and save to desktop like Windows?

I have... on the PC. Wasn't my cup of tea. I'm not prone to having another app running all the time just to get what's in the PC version

If all you want to do is save a screenshot to the desktop, this is built into the OS:

 

CMD-shift-3 : Capture the entire screen

CMD-shift-4 : A cross-hair cursor will appear and you can drag to select the area you wish to capture.

CMD-shift-4 then press spacebar : A camera cursor will appear and you can click on the window you wish to capture.

Add the Control key to any of those combinations and the screenshot is put on the clipboard instead of on the desktop.

Agree. Used this feature tons on the pc. Is there a way to do this so the clipped section goes right into evernote?... not an image saved on the desktop?

Nevermind. click the elephant head up in the menu bar. There is an option to "Clip rectangle or window"

 

Works like a charm!
