(Archived) Deleting notes doesn't reduce size of evernote application (on mac desktop)

Idea

Hi - I deleted hundreds of large notes and emptied the trash and the size of my Evernote application remains exactly the same. Restarted my mac a bunch of times just in case that was the issue but no luck. Why does deleting a signifigant amount of notes not reduce the size of the application file?

Thank you!

Hi. I'm not pleased with this aspect of the app either, and i hope someday we get some truly robust diagnostic tools to manage stuff. Until then, see this thread: http://discussion.evernote.com/topic/40736-evernote-purgatory-and-type-ahead-index-on-the-mac/

I checked my purgatory file and there's nothing in it. Does anyone know any other way of making sure that deleting a sizable amount of notes actually impacts the size of the application?

Also, I'm assuming it's ok to delete the zip file in application support?

You can delete everything, if you want.

This is probably the 100% sure way to get the smallest database possible.
