(Archived) Why didn't my unsaved note sync when I next came into wifi range?

Hello all. Quick question.

I was attending a conference and taking notes on my ipad (not on wifi). I understand that the note was not saved at the time because I didn't have wifi.

 

However, when I returned home and had wifi, why didn't the note sync? Now I cant find my minutes of the meeting anywhere... are they lost forever? (I've looked in trash)
