keyboard short cut (ctrl-shift-c) for checkbox is not working

keyboard short cut (ctrl-shift-c) for checkbox is not working on Evernote 4.x.  I have not upgraded to 5.0 so can't quite explain why this is happening but I've checked it on more than one computer.  I can still insert the checkbox if I right click on the note and select that option, but the shortcut no longer works.  Incidentally, I'm  used to using this keyboard shortcut so I know that something has changed.

Elsewhere on the forum it's suggested that the latest version of Skitch has hijacked this shortcut. If you're running that, see if quitting it altogether solves the problem.

Hmmn.  V5 is the same.  Checkboxes are assigned by the note toolbar only.

Most likely Skitch has been installed and running in the background.

Try disabling Skitch.

 

As soon as I disabled Skitch the hotkey worked again.

Is this something that could be fixed by assigning a different key to skitch? 

Most of us are used to running skitch in the background should we ever need it. It seems a shame that we are not able to use this keyboard shortcut to save time when creating task lists.
