(Archived) Search for plain text

I am experiencing some problems when performing a search using the findNotesMetadata method. What I need to do is search for plain text. For example, I need to look for notes that contain a date in the following format “18-10-2013”. From what I have seen in the documentation searching for the text “18 -10”, will return the notes that contain the word 18 and do not contain the word 10. This behavior could be avoided by using double quotes. However, the Evernote api works the same, with or without quotes (doesn’t search for plain text). Moreover, using the same search text on the Windows client and in the web application I get different results.

 

Is there a way to search for plain text using the api?
