(Archived) SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW sync / processing note time

Since the most recent update, I've been suffering painfully long sync (processing) times for notes that contain PDFs. Heaven forbid I merge notes that contain PDFs.... Tried that a couple of days ago, and it took 10? 15? minutes for the merge to complete. During that time, I'm stuck--can't touch the merging notes since doing so creates conflict copies.

 

Any hint as to what's causing the problem (and how to fix it)?

I just checked the logs. Looks like Evernote is indexing, re-indexing, indexing, re-indexing over and over again. Here are just a few of the lines from a two-note merge completed a few minutes ago:

I'm experiencing the same problem using Mac OS X 10.7.5.

 

This version of EN (Version 5.4.1 (402013)) must be faulty, buggy.

 

Maybe you can revert to the previous version?

Am hoping tech support will provide a solution, but tend to think you're right---this last update is really buggy.

 

I've also had problems with the updated webclipper (Chrome + new EN Clipper + MacBook Air = Unusable). I used to rely on the Clipper heavily, but without the ability to add a note, needing instead to save...then open in Evernote...then add a note...then save...well....

 

Let's just say EN isn't making life easier, the way it used to. Bummer.
