(Archived) Feature Request: Timer for Audio Recordings and Auto-start

I frequently forget to stop the audio recording and end up with a very very long one that wastes space..  It would be great if you could add a "kitchen timer" to the recorder that would stop and save the recording after the time has passed.

 

While you're at it, make the recordings start after I press the mic button without having to press the Start after that..

Or you could use a dedicated recording app with all the bells and whistles and just save the files in Evernote?

If they're notes that need laying out professionally I already do.  I tend to send emails via my email software,  do calculations in Excel and watch videos in VLC ...

 

I know Evernote is a nice all-purpose tool,  but if you add too many extra options to a Swiss Army Knife it gets difficult to cut with!
