(Archived) Taking Pictures out of Books and Magazines: Am I gonna get in trouble?

It seems like it's acceptable practice to clip articles online, even copyrighted ones, and put them into our Private notebooks.

 

However, lately, I've gotten into the habit of taking a picture of the page whenever I read an interesting article in a magazine or a page in a book.  I'll then upload it to one of my private Evernote notebooks.  I don't photograph books from cover to cover, only selectively picking the few pages that really interest me and would like to keep for future reference.

 

Is this something to be paranoid about?

This probably falls under fair use policy and is probably ok. If you were selling access to the notebooks or using them publicly, that might be another matter.
