(Archived) Updates changes preferences

Lately, there have been numerous update for Windows version of Evernote. While I appreciate that the product continues to be developed, and bugs addressed, it becomes rather annoying to have to re-install the product (on multiple machines) every few days.

 

But most annoying is that each update resets my preferences for the sidebar.

In the Evernote Windows client

>Tools >Options >General

Uncheck the option "Automatically check for updates"

 

And especially, if it is checked, uncheck the option "Update to pre-release version when available"  (shudder)

 

In my opinion, you will be much safer to let the dust settle for a month or two; and then upgrade.
